Butyl Rubber Sheeting

Butyl Rubber Sheeting

Butyl rubber sheeting (IIR) is a synthetic elastomer made from isobutylene and isoprene, prized for its excellent thermal stability and resistance to ageing, UV radiation, and weathering. These qualities make it highly suitable for sealing tasks in both indoor and outdoor environments.

Its dense and impermeable structure ensures effective airtight sealing and gas retention, although it is not compatible with petroleum-based substances, oils, or chlorinated solvents.

Available in rolls, strips, or custom-cut sheets, Butyl rubber sheeting is commonly used to produce gaskets and seals, capitalising on its distinctive sealing capabilities.

AMG Sealing stocks a wide selection of Butyl rubber sheeting. Please get in touch to discuss your needs and take advantage of our reliable regional service and expert technical advice.

Also referred to as isobutylene-isoprene rubber, Butyl delivers dependable performance in challenging sealing applications.
