Nitrile Rubber Cord

Nitrile Rubber Cord

Nitrile rubber cord (NBR) is a synthetic copolymer made from acrylonitrile and butadiene, prized for its excellent resistance to aromatic hydrocarbons, mild acids, hydraulic fluids, lubricants, and petroleum-based substances. It performs reliably within a broad temperature spectrum, offering moderate tensile strength alongside good abrasion resistance. However, it is not recommended for extended exposure to oxidation, weather, or UV light, limiting its suitability for outdoor use.

Commonly employed in automotive and aerospace sealing applications, nitrile cord is valued for its chemical resilience. It can be effectively bonded to form durable O-rings. AMG Sealing holds a comprehensive stock of standard sizes; for bespoke diameters or quantities, please contact us using the enquiry option above, quoting the relevant product code.
