Sigma® 511 is a high-grade biaxially oriented PTFE sheet enhanced with silica filler to provide dependable compressibility. This material is WRAS approved for use with potable water and complies with EC standards for food contact materials. It is particularly effective for sealing aggressive acids, including all concentrations of sulphuric acid, and a variety of chemicals. Please note it is not suitable for applications involving hydrofluoric acid, molten alkali metals, fluorine gas, or hydrogen fluoride.
AMG Sealing offers precision cutting services to convert Sigma® 511 into standard flange gasket sheets, bespoke gasket shapes, or picture frame gaskets tailored to your requirements. For assistance with gasket sizing, please refer to our comprehensive guide: How to Measure a Gasket. Additionally, a comparison chart between Novus™ and Sigma® gasket materials is available for download here.
For alternative gasket materials, AMG Sealing stocks trusted brands including GYLON® 3500 and Top-Chem 2000.
Suitable for sealing across the entire pH range (0-14), except for molten alkali metals, fluorine gas, hydrogen fluoride, and hydrofluoric acid environments.
*Custom sheet dimensions and thicknesses can be supplied upon request, though longer lead times may apply.
The Klinger® equivalent material is also available as an alternative.
Please be aware that maximum temperature and pressure ratings should not be applied simultaneously. Actual performance depends on the specific application; consult the technical data sheet below for full details.
